A 37-year-old woman is being held on suspicion of embezzling more than $850,000 from her employer, authorities said Thursday.
Angela Phillips, a personal assistant for a man who is connected to Windsor Capital Group, allegedly deposited checks into a phony account and used company credit cards to fraudulently ring up purchases, said Drew Sugars, spokesman for the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department.
She is being held in Santa Barbara Jail in lieu of $850,000 bail.
