ON THE MOUND: Hiroki Kuroda had his best start of the spring, limiting the A’s to a hit and two walks over 51/3 innings. He said he was pleased with how he was able to record eight ground-ball outs.
EXTRA BASES:Manager Joe Torre said he would announce the Dodgers’ opening-day starter Thursday.
UP NEXT:Vicente Padilla is scheduled to start Thursday’s 1 p.m. game against the Milwaukee Brewers at Camelback Ranch.
