Songwriter Michael Fitzpatrick picks up a pad in Pasadena

Musician Michael Fitzpatrick, of Fitz and the Tantrums fame, has bought a house in Pasadena for $1,909,923.
The midcentury house sits on a nearly three-quarter knoll amid mature oak trees. Glass sliding doors open to multiple patios and outdoor areas.
The 3,100 square feet of living space appears dated and ready for Fitzpatrick to come in and put his own spin on it. There are a living room and den with fireplaces, three bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms.
Fitzpatrick, 44, is the lead singer and songwriter for the indie pop band. They released the album “Pickin’ Up the Pieces” four years ago. Their latest studio album is entitled “More Than Just a Dream.”
The soul music-inspired writer also is a pianist, having learned to play in his 30s.
Cynthia Luczyski and Lauren Luczyski of Deasy/Penner & Partners were the listing agents. Phil Missig of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties represented Fitzpatrick.
