The shooting at the Los Angeles International Airport halted production of AMC’s popular TV show “Mad Men” on Friday.
A spokeswoman for AMC declined to comment, but crew members confirmed that authorities told the production to shut down when it was filming at the airport.
“We are filming at LAX. Gun fire. Locked down. Evacuating!” Dustin Woods, a grip on the show, wrote on Twitter Friday afternoon. The tweet was first reported by the website Franklin Avenue.

In a later tweet, Woods added: “We are at Terminal 4 AA when LAPD came in with guns drawn said get back inside active shooter on site.”
Separately, Science Channel and Discovery Channel issued a statement saying Grant Imahara and Tory Belleci, stars of the TV show “Mythbusters,” were in Terminal 3 at Los Angeles International Airport at the time of the shooting incident.
“Both were en route to Delaware for the filming of ‘Punkin Chunkin’,” according to the statement. “Grant and Tory are safe and being rerouted. Our thoughts are with all those affected by today’s tragedy and our gratitude goes out to the members of the LAPD, Airport Police, TSA, and Virgin America staff for restoring safety to the scene.”
A Transportation Security Administration agent was killed and several people were wounded in Friday’s incident.
