Matthew Morrison of ‘Glee’ is engaged to model Renee Puente

Matthew Morrison, the “Glee” star who’s recently released his second solo album, is planning a duet for the rest of his life: He’s newly engaged to Renee Puente, his girlfriend of two years.

“An incredible night of LOVE @ejaf Ball,” Morrison tweeted Friday, referring to the Elton John AIDS Foundation’s White Tie and Tiara Ball, where the news was announced Thursday night. “I’m going to marry my best friend! Happy day for me and @Renee_Puente.”

The announcement was made from the stage by John and his partner, David Furnish, according to E! News. Morrison is friends with the two. That was followed by a rendition of “Your Song” dedicated to the couple and performed by John along with Coldplay singer Chris Martin, husband of Gwyneth Paltrow.

“The theme of the night was love, which is so appropriate,” a source close to the star told E! The two came out publicly as a couple at the same party two years ago.

Puente’s sapphire and diamond engagement ring was visible in a picture, obtained by People, taken as the couple drove off.

It’ll be a first marriage for both Morrison, 34, and model Puente, 26.
