Courtney Love tells Kimmel the one duet she’d sing with Dave Grohl

Courtney Love and Dave Grohl have had what you’d call a bumpy relationship.

As the singer-actress herself told Jimmy Kimmel on his show Tuesday night, “We used to really like each other. And then there was 20 years where we sued each other.”

Grohl and Love have a shared history, of course, through Nirvana and its former singer Kurt Cobain. But after Cobain’s 1994 suicide, things deteriorated rapidly between his former bandmates and Love, who was married to Cobain at the time.

But now, it appears things are all good between Grohl, who’s currently the frontman for the band Foo Fighters, and Love, who has a recurring guest role in the upcoming Fox series “Empire.”

They “hugged it out” at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony. And according to Love, they recently bonded over “this one actress’ boobs.”

“Now we’re cool,” Love said. “We’re totally tight.”

So how about some kind of musical collaboration between the two? Love can sing, Grohl can sing. What could bring these two songbirds together?

“I think we have a bit of a different demographic,” Love cautioned. But that didn’t stop her from picking out one classic that would get her into the recording studio with Grohl.

It’s “Islands in the Stream,” the 1983 duet originally sung by Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton and re-created by karaoke couples forever after.

So will we be getting this chestnut in our iTunes store anytime soon? Don’t hold your breath.
