‘Ray Donovan’ gets picked up for second season by Showtime

“Ray Donovan,” the Showtime drama starring Liev Scheiber as a professional “fixer” who makes the problems of high-profile athletes and celebrities go away, has been picked up for a second season.
The premiere of the series last month was Showtime’s highest-rated debut in history, scoring 6 million viewers. Subsequent episodes have also pulled in a solid audience.

“ ‘Ray Donovan’ is on track to be our biggest season-one show ever,” Showtime Networks President David Nevins said in a statement.
The second season of the drama, which also stars Jon Voight, Paula Malcomson and Eddie Marsan, will debut next year.
