Jay Z apparently has persuaded Barney’s New York to up the amount his education foundation will receive from sales of his Barney’s holiday collection from 25% to 100% of sales. In addition, 10% of all sales made in-store and on barneys.com on Nov. 20 are to go to his Shawn Carter Foundation. In a statement posted on the entertainer’s website, he says he is going forward with the collaboration on the condition that he can take a leadership role in finding ways to stop racial profiling, which the retailer has been accused of in two recent high-profile cases. [WWD]Starting Monday, Gap launched its global “Make Love” marketing campaign, featuring Tony Bennett, Cyndi Lauper, Billy Porter, Connie Britton, Q-Tip and Harry Belafonte in a series of short films, the retailer announced in a news release.
