If you weren’t able to snag a reservation to BBQ kings Adam Perry Lang’s and Aaron Franklin’s El Jefe dinner at Animal next week, they’re giving fans another chance to try their famous barbecue.
Lang, a chef, cookbook author and award-winning barbecue expert, and Franklin, a 2015 James Beard Award nominee for Best Chef Southwest, and author of “Franklin Barbecue: A Meat Smoking Manifesto,” will be cooking at Nick’s Cafe in downtown L.A. on Friday.
BBQ will start at 6 p.m. and early line up will be outside the restaurant. Guests are asked to not enter the restaurant or disturb the lunch service. It’s first come first serve, limit two orders per person in line, and no saving places.
Lang said he plans on having enough food for 80 people. Each lucky diner will receive a plate topped with Creekstone Farms prime brisket, Niman Ranch pork shoulder, linguica sausage, beans, coleslaw, pickles, onions and sliced bread.
There will be no substitutions.
“It’s no hassle or complication, we just want to keep it as simple and pure as possible, almost make it feel like a backyard BBQ,” Lang said.
Dinner is $50 a person and includes tax. It’s cash only, so be sure to hit the ATM before dinner.
