Beverly Garland’s Hollywood Hills home sells for $100,000 above asking price

Update: The Hollywood Hills home built for actress Beverly Garland has sold for $100,000 more than its $1,765,000 asking price. It was on the market only 11 days before entering escrow.
Designed by Midcentury architect Richard Dorman and constructed in 1959 by Garland’s husband, Fillmore Crank, the compound consists of the main house, a detached guesthouse and a detached workshop for a total of four bedrooms and 4 1/2 bathrooms in 3,660 square feet. The third of an acre includes a saline swimming pool. Garland and Crank were the sole owners of the house, where she lived until her death in 2008 at 82.
Garland began her acting career of more than 50 years in 1950, debuting in the film noir “D.O.A.” Her TV roles included playing Fred MacMurray’s second wife on “My Three Sons” (1969-72).
The listing agent was Michael Tunick of Sotheby’s International Realty’s Sunset Boulevard office. Julie Jones of the same office represented the buyer.
