Earthquake: 3.3 quake strikes near La Quinta

A shallow magnitude 3.3 earthquake was reported Wednesday morning 13 miles from La Quinta, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 10:50 a.m. PDT at a depth of 2.5 miles.
According to the USGS, the epicenter was 16 miles from Palm Desert, 16 miles from Rancho Mirage, 19 miles from Cathedral City, and 251 miles from Phoenix.
In the last 10 days, there have been two earthquakes magnitude 3.0 and greater centered nearby.
