An explosion rocked a Koreatown apartment building Wednesday morning, shattering windows and forcing evacuations, police said.
Officials didn’t know what caused the 8:50 a.m. explosion in the 300 block of South Ardmore Avenue, said Officer Christopher No of the Los Angeles Police Department.
Fire officials weren’t aware of any injuries, but were still going through the building. The explosion shattered several windows, and residents were asked to evacuate.
LAPD investigators and the Los Angeles Fire Department’s Hazmat team planned to enter the building to find the source of the explosion.
Meanwhile, police have blocked access to the area and have advised drivers to avoid Ardmore Avenue between Third and Fourth streets.
