The days for the iconic 6th Street viaduct are numbered. Come January, the landmark is set to be demolished and eventually replaced with a more earthquake-resistant structure.
Last month, hundreds of people gathered on the 6th Street Bridge for the farewell festival that marked the closing of the landmark.
Rob Rovira shot this image from the 4th Street Bridge using a long exposure, aiming to capture the festival in its final moments.
“The fireworks illuminate the shallow water with the people celebrating below,” he said. “I will definitely be sad to see the bridge go.”
Rovira made this image using a Nikon D7100 with a 35mm 1.8 lens.
