Reader Photo: A movie-worthy prom proposal

During the San Pedro Art Walk in May, Lenny Lloyd da Silva stumbled upon a different kind of creative work: a prom request on the marquee of the Warner Grand Theatre. “I thought, what a very cool way to ask your date to the prom,” Da Silva said of his decision to snap a photo with his Nikon D3100.

To make the moment even better, Da Silva also caught some of the action.

“Irene’s mom just happened to be there, and she was calling Irene to tell her. ... You could just feel the excitement the mom felt for her daughter, saying to everybody that she was Irene’s mom, just a really sweet moment.”
