Letters: Fed up with campaigning

Re “Campaign plans are swept away,” News Analysis, Oct. 30
My heart goes out to all of those who have been affected by Hurricane Sandy, but I am relieved by the storm’s impact on the election: quiet for the last few days. This election is totally out of control with the amount of money being spent and the polarization of our country.
The amount of time permitted for campaigning should be restricted to what would be needed for the candidates to visit all 50 states. We don’t need years of campaigning to make up our minds.
The amount of glossy literature I receive on a daily basis goes straight into the garbage. Do the politicians really believe I’m going to change my mind because of a card in the mail? I cry for the trees.
