Readers React: Corporations and PACs, where’s your voter ID?

To the editor: Can any election be considered “local” anymore? Alarm bells are ringing loudly, warning of the increasingly negative influence of outside money in our electoral process. The rule should be simple: You can contribute as much money as you want, but only to candidates or ballot issues in elections you can vote in. (“Midterm ad blitz marks new era in political spending,” Nov. 3)
Note to corporations, political action committees and 501(c)(4) groups: Good luck producing that photo ID!

To the editor: With the millions spent on campaigns (in a midterm election, no less), I can’t help but wonder about the greater good that would be served if that money had been spent fighting Ebola, feeding the hungry, finding a cure for cancer or on any number of other worthy causes.
