Singer and stage veteran Lorena Peril has joined the cast of “Fantasy,” Luxor’s long-running adult revue.
Peril takes center stage as “Fantasy” enters its 12th year at the Luxor, making it one of the Las Vegas’ longest-running shows. New choreography and a changing set list from a variety of music genres keep the show fresh.
“Fantasy” is the antidote to the Vegas weekend that’s turning into more city than sin. The 90-minute show features skimpy costumes, sensual silk aerials, spicy Latin numbers, a saucy rendition of “Save a Horse (Ride a Cowboy)” and much celebration of the (mostly) naked female form.
Peril is pint-sized but a powerful vocalist whose singing style is often — and aptly — compared to that of Christina Aguilera. Peril impersonated the singer in “American Superstars” at the Stratosphere before moving on to a headlining gig in “Sin City Bad Girls” at the Hilton.
Peril opens “Fantasy” with a new addition to the 17-number set list, a steamy version of Aguilera’s “Desnudate.” The singer dons dark suit and fedora for a full-throttled version of “It’s a Man’s World,” and performs a flirtatious belly dance with the show’s resident comedian, Sean E. Cooper. Peril’s vocals are on full display in an upbeat performance of “Lady Marmalade.”
“Fantasy” is created and produced by the Emmy Award-winning choreographer Anita Mann, who has been attached to numerous stage and screen projects.
Luxor’s Atrium Showroom seats 350, providing an up-close-and-personal viewing experience.
