Huntington Beach police are looking for a man who robbed a bank Monday after trying to rob another bank two days earlier.
The man was seen entering the Bank of the West branch at 19006 Brookhurst St. about 11:40 a.m. Monday. He handed a teller a note demanding money and then fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. No weapon was seen, police Officer Jennifer Marlatt said.
Authorities believe the same man tried to rob the Chase bank at 19021 Beach Blvd. on Saturday. He handed a note to a teller but did not get any cash, Marlatt said. No weapon was seen.
The man was described as black, in his 40s, clean-shaven and about 6 feet tall with a medium build. In the Monday robbery, he was wearing a blue baseball cap with a white bill and aviator-style sunglasses.
Anyone with information about the incidents is asked to call Huntington Beach police at (714) 375-5066.
