Dodgers’ prized prospect Joc Pederson out with separated shoulder

The pain is everywhere.

While waiting for Hanley Ramirez and Juan Uribe to return from injury, the Dodgers re-learned Wednesdaythat the rehab business is not limited to the major-league level.

Triple-A Albuquerque outfielder Joc Pederson, perhaps their top prospect, has been shut down with a separated right shoulder.

Pederson underwent an MRI that showed a Grade 1 acromioclavicular separation. An Albuquerque doctor examined the X-rays and confirmed the diagnosis.

Pederson is expected to miss at least 10 games, though it would hardly be surprising if the shoulder took longer to heal.

Pederson, 22, injured the shoulder Tuesday when he dived for a ball in Albuquerque. Pederson is batting .319 with Albuquerque and leads the Isotopes with 17 home runs and 58 runs. He also has stolen 20 bases in 74 games and has a 1.005 OPS.
