Baseball: It’s a Thanksgiving tournament

If it’s Thanksgiving week, it’s time for some baseball. There will be several tournaments taking place. West Ranch and Birmingham are hosting teams on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

At Birmingham, the host Patriots are playing Sherman Oaks Notre Dame at 9 a.m. on Friday. There will be lots of good pitchers on the mound. At 11:30 a.m., Taft plays Calabasas. Two more teams with quality pitchers.

At West Ranch, Harvard-Westlake is playing the host team at 9 a.m., followed by Cleveland taking on Granada Hills Kennedy at 11:30 a.m. Kennedy has both of its starting pitchers back. Ditto for Cleveland.

Moorpark College is hosting a three-day tournament beginning Friday that will feature Chatsworth, Granada Hills, Chaminade and Westlake, among others.
