Baseball: Woodland Hills West advances to VIBL semifinals

Woodland Hills West, made up of players from defending City Section champion El Camino Real, advanced to the VIBL semifinals with an 8-2 win over Royal on Monday.
Dane Reed had a two-run double during a three-run first inning for Woodland Hills. He finished with three hits. Jeremy Polon struck out three in the first two innings and threw four innings.
Woodland Hills West will face Saugus, a 10-5 win over Burroughs, on Wednesday at home.
Hart advanced to the semifinals with an 11-2 win over Crespi. Robert Reeves and Cole Roederer hit home runs for Hart. Camarillo defeated Taft, 17-3, and will play at Hart.
The final is set for Saturday at 7 p.m. at Birmingham.
