Boras Classic: JSerra will face Mira Costa in championship game

It will be JSerra taking on Mira Costa in the championship game of the Boras Classic on Friday at 6 p.m. at Santa Ana Mater Dei.
JSerra used a seven-run second inning to hold off El Camino Real, 10-8, in a semifinal game on Thursday night. The Conquistadores had two runners aboard, none out and a 2-0 count when JSerra brought in catcher Lyle Lin to pitch in the bottom of the seventh. Lin got a forceout, strikeout and groundout to earn the save.
Davis Wendzel had a double, home run and four RBIs. Royce Lewis and Lin each had two hits. Justin Katona and Jake Baer had two-run doubles in the sixth for the Conquistadores (13-3).
Mira Costa defeated North, 9-6, in the semifinals. Will Proctor had two hits and four RBIs.
In consolation games, Vista Murrieta defeated Loyola, 5-3. Mitchell Moralez had two hits and two RBIs. Corona Santiago defeated Sherman Oaks Notre Dame, 3-2. Ryan Williams had two hits and two RBIs. Colin Brophy had three hits for Notre Dame.
Huntington Beach defeated Damien, 6-5. Cory Moore had two RBIs and Dominic Abbadessa and Hagen Danner had two hits apiece. Orange Lutheran defeated La Costa Canyon, 10-1. Jasiah Dixon hit a three-run home run.
Mater Dei defeated Great Oak, 10-2. Blake Hunt had three hits. Josh Stephen hit a three-run home run. Chaminade defeated South Hills, 7-0. Reece Weinberg threw a complete game. Nick Kahle hit a home run and Blake Rutherford added three hits.
Friday’s schedule: At JSerra: Loyola vs. South Hills, 9 a.m.; Orange Lutheran vs. Great Oak, noon; El Camino Real vs. North (third place), 3 p.m.; Huntington Beach vs. Corona Santiago, 6 p.m. (consolation title).
At Mater Dei: Vista Murrieta vs. Chaminade, 9 a.m.; Mater Dei vs. La Costa Canyon, noon; Notre Dame vs. Damien, 3 p.m.; JSerra vs. Mira Costa, 6 p.m. (championship).
