L.A. Salesian Principal Alex Chacon made a phone call on Friday to La Canada Principal Ian McFeat and offered an apology for an incident in a football game on Sept. 4 that resulted in a La Canada player having a heat-rub substance put on his face allegedly by a Salesian player at the end of a tackle.
La Canada Athletic Director Kristina Kalb confirmed the phone call and indicated the school appreciated the response.
“Progress is being made,” she said.
The Salesian player involved in the incident was held out of a Thursday game against Loyola.
