Girls’ golf: Granada Hills is heavy favorite to win City Section championship
- Share via
The only way Granada Hills won’t win its fifth consecutive City Section championship in girls’ golf on Monday at Balboa Golf Course is if its bus goes to San Diego instead of Encino.
The Highlanders could have as many as five players shoot in the 70s. It’s not a matter of if they win but by how many strokes and who finishes second. North Hollywood could be runner-up and lose by 70 strokes. Granada Hills has won 10 of 14 City titles under Coach Steve Thompson.
The real competition will be for the individual title.
North Hollywood freshman Jasmine Lew has been coming on strong. She will face competition from Carol Cheng of Granada Hills and Amanda Lee from Cleveland.
