The Galaxy’s home stadium in Carson, formerly known as Home Depot Center, became StubHub Center on Saturday.
Anschutz Entertainment Group, which built and owns the 125-acre complex on the campus of Cal State Dominguez Hills, had said in March that Home Depot was not extending its naming-rights deal and that a new pact was signed with ticket broker StubHub.
The venue’s 27,000-seat stadium is home to both the Galaxy and Chivas USA of Major League Soccer. Chivas USA plays there Saturday night against the Seattle Sounders.
The center also is a frequent training center for the U.S. men’s and women’s soccer teams, and it has an 8,000-seat tennis stadium and a 2,000-seat track and field facility.
