UCLA quarterback Jerry Neuheisel limited after thumb surgery

UCLA quarterback Jerry Neuheisel underwent surgery on his right thumb last week and will probably only be available to hold for kicks.
Neuheisel has been Brett Hundley’s backup this season. He has completed 11 of 13 passes for 124 yards. His hand has been heavily wrapped for practice this week.
“He’ll be fine,” offensive coordinator Noel Mazzone said. “He’s a couple weeks from being able to throw. He just can’t put the pressure on the football.”
The Bruins are not expecting to need a backup quarterback against Arizona. But walk-on Mike Fafaul will fill that role. The Bruins also have freshman Asiantii Woulard, whom they are hoping to redshirt.
