Athletics pitcher Sonny Gray headed to the DL

Right-hander Sonny Gray was put on the disabled list by the Oakland Athletics because of a strained forearm.
It is Gray’s second stint on the DL this season. He strained a neck muscle and was out from May 21 to June 4.
An All-Star in 2015, Gray has struggled most of the year after consecutive 14-victory seasons.
Diamondbacks make two moves
The Arizona Diamondbacks put outfielder David Peralta on the DL because of right wrist inflammation, and released right-hander Josh Collmenter.
It’s the third time on the DL for Peralta, the second time for a wrist injury. Peralta has played only 48 games this season and also has been on the DL for a lower back strain.
Collmenter had been designated for assignment July 30. He was 36-33 with a 3.54 earned-run average in more than 200 games with the Diamondbacks.
