NFC notes: Falcons’ Devonta Freeman leads NFL in rushing yards

Arizona: The Cardinals’ offense is averaging a league-best 6.78 yards per play, and has had 38 plays of 20-plus yards. Arizona hasn’t won in Cleveland since 1985.

Atlanta: Devonta Freeman leads the NFL with 621 rushing yards and has gone for more than 100 yards in three straight games. He has 10 touchdowns.

Carolina: Running back Jonathan Stewart has rushed for 203 yards and two touchdowns in his last two games. Corner Josh Norman leads the NFL with four picks.

Chicago: The Bears have won 13 of 14 home games against Minnesota and seven straight at Soldier Field. Matt Forte has the second-most scrimmage yards in NFL (698).

Dallas: Running back Darren McFadden will make his first start for the Cowboys. Receiver Dez Bryant (foot) could make his return after missing five games.

Detroit: Rookie running back Ameer Abdullah is eighth in the NFL in all-purpose yards (720), and second in kick return yards (385). Detroit is 1-0 in London.

Green Bay: The Packers are 8-1 under Coach Mike McCarthy following a bye. Since last season, Aaron Rodgers has 53 touchdown throws with seven interceptions.

Minnesota: The Vikings have been flagged a league-low 35 times. Last win in Chicago came in 2007, when Adrian Peterson rushed for 224 yards with three scores.

New Orleans: Tight end Benjamin Watson has 222 receiving yards in his last three games. The Saints average the third-most passing yards per game (297.1).

N.Y. Giants: New Orleans native Eli Manning is 0-2 at the Superdome. He also holds the league’s longest active streak of consecutive starts (174.)

Philadelphia: Kiko Alonso (knee) expects to play in Week 9 against the Cowboys after missing five games. He missed all of last season after tearing his left ACL.

San Francisco: The 49ers have scored one touchdown in their last two games. Kicker Phil Dawson has made 11 of his 12 field-goal attempts and has 41 points.

Seattle: The Seahawks have rushed for at least 100 yards in 18 consecutive games, a team record. Marshawn Lynch has scored 58 touchdowns since 2011.

St. Louis: The Rams are tied for NFC lead with 23 sacks. Defensive tackle Aaron Donald has 4 1/2, defensive end Robert Quinn has four, and 10 others have at least one.

Tampa Bay: The Buccaneers promoted Adam Humphries from the practice squad to replace No. 3 receiver Louis Murphy, who tore his ACL.

Washington: Linebacker Ryan Kerrigan hopes to play against the Patriots following the Redskins’ bye this week. He underwent surgery on his hand Monday.
