USC’s Su’a Cravens presents issues for UCLA

UCLA offensive coordinator Noel Mazzone absorbs the full picture when preparing each week. Generally, everyone on the opposing defense concerns him.
“I worry about 11 guys,” Mazzone said.
But there are exceptions. USC’s Su’a Cravens is one this week. Cravens will likely jump between linebacker and defensive back this week, posing problems.
“He’s big enough to rush you and he’s athletic enough to cover you in space,” Mazzone said. “You always have to be concerned about him.”
Cravens could also be employed as a spy to keep UCLA quarterback Brett Hundley from hurting the defense as a runner, as he did last season. Hundley had 80 yards rushing and scored two touchdowns against USC in the Bruins’ 35-14 victory a year ago.
Mazzone said USC defensive linemen Leonard Williams is also a challenge.
“He’s big and fast and physical and plays with a little anger,” Mazzone said. “Our kids have to get a little angry.”
