The Trojans improved to 7-3 overall and 6-2 in the Pac-12 Conference.
California fell to 5-5, 3-5.
USC receiver Nelson Agholor caught 16 passes for 216 yards and two touchdowns, one reception short of the school record set by Robert Woods in 2011.
Quarterback Cody Kessler completed 31 of 42 passes for 371 yards and four touchdowns, with an interception.
