Black Friday 2011: Save up to $500 on Gate1 Travel package tours

Black Friday deals seem to be everywhere, including at hotels, resorts and travel companies. Instead of lining up at a big-box store, you could save on next year’s vacation without ever leaving home. Gate1 Travel has a one-day Black Friday sale on all-inclusive tours that offers discounts of $50 to $500 per trip.
The deal: Here’s how the discounts work: Take $50 off a trip costing $500 or more with the code “BLACKFR50”; $100 off a trip costing $1,000 or more with the code “BLACKFR100”; $250 off a trip costing $2,000 or more with the code “BLACKFR250” and $500 off a trip costing $4,000 or more with the code “BLACK500.”
When: The offer is good from 9 p.m. PST Thursday to 8:59 p.m. PST Friday. Reservations can be made online during that time or by phone from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. PST Friday.
Tested: The sale isn’t on yet so I couldn’t test this deal, but I looked at some examples of Gate1 trips. The eight-day Affordable Italy inclusive tour leaves Feb. 4 and costs $1,831 per person based on double occupancy leaving from L.A. (prices fluctuate according to airfare costs.) Total cost for two: $3,662, which qualifies for the $250 discount on Black Friday.
