Deal of the week: Boutique Temecula winery inn as low as $147 a night

Here’s a midweek deal that lets you enjoy wine tasting or Pechanga Resort & Casino without worrying about driving home.

Deal: The Mid-Week Escape to Ponte Vineyard Inn in Temecula provides a 30% discount on a Sunday-Wednesday stay in November or December with no minimum stay requirement.

Freebies at the 60-room inn, which opened in June 2012, include parking, a fitness center and Wi-Fi. Eco-measures include LED lighting, low-flow toilets and showers and rooftop solar panels. The Inn recycles unused soap and bath products through Clean the World, a nonprofit that recycles hygiene products for distribution to needy communities around the world.

Temecula has more than 30 wineries and the Ponte Vineyard Inn provides a walking trail to three of them: Ponte Winery, South Coast Winery and Wiens Family Cellars.

Tested: I found the deal widely available for a two-night stay in either November or December. Rates seemed slightly higher in November. A two-night stay from Dec. 1-3 costs $147 a night for a double queen patio room for a total of $323.60 including tax. A first night’s deposit is required for booking. The deposit is refundable as long as your reservation is canceled at least three days before 3 p.m. on your arrival date. The deal is subject to availability, and there are blackout dates.
