The best way to Kenya
From LAX, connecting service (change of planes) to Nairobi, Kenya, is available on Air France, Virgin Atlantic, British, KLM, Air Tahiti Nui and Emirates, all connecting to Kenya Airways. Restricted round-trip fares begin at $1,009.
We required an overnight in Dubai and stayed at the InterContinental Dubai-Festival City, https://www.ichotelsgroup.com, which is close to the beach, shopping and the airport. Doubles from $238.
Planning a trip
We booked our trip through Micato Safaris, (800) 642-2861, https://www.micato.com. Prices start at $6,900 per person for a 10-day safari. This includes internal flights and transportation, accommodations, guides, safari director, food, most alcohol, game drives and most activities. Balloon ride extra. This year, for every safari booked, Micato will pay for school for a child in Nairobi’s Mukuru slum, where 48% of all children are too poor to go to school.
The lodges on this trip: Sabuk Lodge, https://www.sabuklodge.com; Elsa’s Kopje, https://www.elsaskopje.com, and Basecamp Masai Mara, https://www.basecampexplorer.com.
