Full-moon ski and snowshoe tours will explore the winter glow at Tamarack Lodge, beginning in late November. The 7 p.m. jaunts last 90 minutes, and participants gather at the lodge after for warm drinks and s’mores around the fireplace at the lodge.
The price: $55, which includes rentals, the tour and refreshments afterward.
What’s not to like? Naturalists lead the tours of the wilderness surrounding Mammoth Lakes. Each month has three dates — the full moon and the evenings immediately before and after. Snowshoe tours are offered all three nights. On the middle night, ski tours are added. Skiers must have some experience to join the ski tour.
The snowshoe groups are limited to 25 and the ski tour is limited to 15. Participants do not have to be guests of the lodge.
The dates for 2015-16:
Nov. 23, 24, 25
Dec. 23, 24, 25
Jan. 21, 22, 23
Feb. 20, 21, 22
