Daily Deal: San Luis Obispo hotel blends old and new

San Luis Obispo calls itself “the happiest city in America,” thanks in part to publicity on the “Oprah” show a couple of years ago.
Regardless of its happiness quotient, the central coastal California city’s proximity to beaches and abundance of wineries combine to make it a pleasant place to spend a few vacation days.
The new Granada Hotel & Bistro, an industrial-chic boutique downtown hotel located in a 1920s exposed-brick building, is making it easy for visitors to get acquainted with the town with a special $140-per-night package.
The deal: The Central Coast Summer special is a Monday-Friday package that includes accommodations, wine tasting for two at nearby Tolosa vineyards and a picnic lunch packed by the hotel’s Granada Bistro. The hotel also provides complimentary bikes to guests.
When: The deal is valid through the end of June.
Details: The Central Coast Summer package is based on availability and cannot be combined with other offers. I tried to book it for June 12 and received the $140 rate.
