The Breakers Palm Beach, one of America’s best-known oceanfront resorts, is putting summer on sale for visitors to Florida.
The mega-hotel, with 140 waterfront acres and 540 rooms, has a string of credits, including being recognized as a AAA Five Diamond hotel and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Descendants of Henry Flagler still own the 117-year-old hotel and have made $250 million in renovations in the last decade.
Among its amenities: nine restaurants, five bars, five swimming pools, two 18-hole golf courses, 10 tennis courts and 11 shops.
The deal: Weekday room rates (Sundays-Thursdays) start at $299 a room, a night and $379 per night weekends (Fridays and Saturdays), based on standard accommodations -- a 40% discount compared with winter season.
When: June 1 until Sept. 30.
Details: Included in the deal are free perks such as continental breakfast, kids’ meals, kids’ day camp and unlimited tennis. I tried to book two dates, June 12, and July 15-18 and was able to get the $299 rate in each case.
Info: The Breakers Palm Beach, (855) 313-8851.
