Reporting from Las Vegas — Resident acts are all the rage now in Las Vegas, whether it’s Reba McEntire with Brooks & Dunn at Caesars Palace or Skrillex at the nightclubs at Wynn Las Vegas. Now add Travis Barker to the roster. The tattooed drummer for Blink-182 becomes Hyde Bellagio’s first resident act, starting on Tuesday, Aug. 18.
Barker’s “Give the Drummer Some” residency promises to feature tracks from his same-named first solo album. Rolling Stone called Barker “punk’s first superstar drummer,” and he plans to bring a high-energy vibe during his show that combines different beats and genres on the drums and in the deejay booth.
“There are three things I love: Drumming, DJing and Vegas,” Barker says in a press statement. “I am stoked to be able to perform in Vegas on a regular basis and I look forward to my residency at Hyde.”
Barker’s other dates at Hyde include Sept. 5, Nov. 3, Jan. 2, 2016, Feb. 20, 2016, and March 19, 2016.
