Thai troops supported by jet fighters battled Vietnamese troops inside Thailand in an effort to force them back across the border into Cambodia. About 800 Vietnamese troops crossed into Thailand last week in pursuit of Cambodian guerrillas, Thai officials said. The clashes were centered about one mile inside Thailand. Thai authorities said the bodies of at least eight Vietnamese have been found.
