Maine Company Buys South Carolina TV Station

FLORENCE, S.C. — Diversified Communications of Portland, Me., agreed to buy WPDE-TV from Eastern Carolinas Broadcasting Co. for $14.5 million.
The cash deal must be approved by the Federal Communications Commission, said George Anderson, president of the Maine company’s broadcast division.
Eastern Carolinas, which is located in Florence, put the station up for sale two months ago.
