Former Cuban Prisoners to Arrive in U.S. Monday

MIAMI — A chartered flight next week will bring the first Cuban political prisoners to the United States under a new immigration agreement with Fidel Castro’s government, the Immigration and Naturalization Service said Wednesday.
The 28 former prisoners and their families are due to arrive Monday at Miami International Airport.
Under the agreement signed Dec. 14, Cuba has agreed to the return of undesirable refugees who entered the United States during the “Freedom Flotilla” boat lift five years ago. Seventy-five more Cubans, including the first group of mental patients, were deported Tuesday, bringing the total deported to 201.
