Coalition Wins Vote

HONIARA, Solomon Islands — The coalition government of Prime Minister Sir Peter Kenilorea survived a parliamentary vote of no-confidence, 20-15, Friday. The vote followed a weeklong strike by civil servants, which stranded more than 300 tourists, and a drop in the Pacific state’s foreign reserves since Kenilorea’s government was elected last October.
