The Issue Is Moot: Top students from Western State University College of Law in Fullerton will argue the issue of practicing religion in public schools today in a moot court competition at the Orange County Courthouse. The Ferguson Honors Moot Court Competition, named for Judge Warren J. Ferguson of the U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeal, will feature a case involving a high school student organization conducting religious practices during a campus meeting. Attorneys and judges from Orange and Los Angeles counties will judge students’ performances, with Ferguson judging the final round of competition.
