Local News in Brief : Countywide : 6th-Grade Academic Pentathlon Winners

O’Neill School in Mission Viejo and McFadden Intermediate School in Santa Ana are the top winners in the county’s recent sixth-grade academic pentathlon, the county Department of Education announced.
O’Neill School, in the Saddleback Valley Unified School District, won first place in the south region of the county. McFadden Intermediate, in the Santa Ana Unified School District, won first place in the north region, county education officials said.
Second place in the north region was won by Anaheim’s Disney School in the Magnolia School District. Second place in the south region was won by Mission Viejo’s Del Cerro School in the Saddleback Valley Unified School District.
The pentathlon involved competition in language arts, mathematics, science, social science and a super quiz.
