Treatment of Rogers

As a local businessman and lecturer, I have had frequent opportunities to work with Mr. Timothy Burns and other members of his staff at La Jolla Country Day School. In my personal experience working with schools, I have seldom found a principal/headmaster and staff to be more progressive and enthusiastically interested in their school and students.
It’s very easy to criticize the actions of men and women who have been forced to deal with a situation both potentially dangerous and entirely new to all of us.
I trust that the present judging and criticism directed at La Jolla Country Day School will be redirected to the real issue, terrorists.
San Diego’s vehemence over this criminal act will have a positive effect only when responsibly directed at the actions of terrorists who attack women and children . . . not at the actions of parents and board members concerned for their children. That one terrorist attack on our city street has left us all victims. San Diego will benefit from that emergency only when we quit looking back at old decisions and begin making decisions for the future.
