The UCLA School of Medicine has received a pledge of $2 million for new cancer research laboratories.
The pledge by the Jeanie A. Wentz Cancer Foundation will be used to establish the Jeanie A. Wentz Laboratories for Cancer Research at the school’s Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center.
The foundation was created by Leon Wentz and his children to honor the memory of his wife, who died of cancer in 1989. Wentz, who has a construction firm in Atherton, is a 1960 graduate of UCLA.
