LA MESA : Chancellor Named at College District

Jeanne Atherton, president of San Diego City College, has been named chancellor of the Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District.
The district’s board of trustees unanimously approved Atherton this week for a four-year term beginning Jan. 1. She will receive an annual salary of $102,500.
Atherton has served as City College president since 1988. She will take over the rapidly growing East County district at a time of tight budgets.
