Dozens of Montebello third-graders met one of their heroes Tuesday as Henry Cisneros--former Clinton administration secretary of Housing and Urban Development--shared inspiring words with students who recently honored him with a personalized poem.
Rosie Becerra Davies’ class at Washington Elementary interviewed Cisneros about his job as president of Univision Communications, parent company of the nation’s largest Spanish-language television network.
Cisneros, 50, endorsed a future in television for more than 40 students who indicated an interest in television jobs. The former mayor of San Antonio suggested that a good education was the best tool to break into the industry.
“The first thing you have to do is just stay in school, study hard and learn all you can,” Cisneros said.
