OCTA Says No to CenterLine Study

The Orange County Transportation Authority on Monday rejected a request by Costa Mesa to study placing the CenterLine project underground through the South Coast Plaza area.
City and business leaders wanted the study because, they say, the elevated light-rail line might adversely affect the commercial and cultural center.
OCTA officials said that a costly underground section might jeopardize its ability to attract federal funding.
