Letters: Pedallers vs. pedestrians

Re “Santa Monica pushes pedaling for commuters,” Oct. 28
Bicycles may be good for commuters. However, as a frequent pedestrian (the lowest rung of the transportation food chain), I have found that cyclists make walking a very unpleasant experience. I have been buzzed by them too often and had to yield to them on sidewalks too often. Walks have turned into defensive maneuvers.
I purposely avoid going to Santa Monica, and when I must, I now use my gasoline-powered car. Then at least I have a chance.
